Jaya is the business strategy and customer innovation leader at Microsoft Digital. Based in London, Jaya sees herself as a global professional having served in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. She has worked at the Big Four, Fortune 500s, SMEs and Start Ups. Her 20 year career journey spans consumer behaviour, market insights, brand management, customer experience and digital transformation. Jaya believes that we live in exciting times for UX as interfaces dissolve into data and experience gets constructed in real time. Jaya serves as a jury member for the Webbies, mentors women in STEM and loves to hike up mountains (real and proverbial) while trying to stay relevant for Generation Z. Her story began in India and she is excited to be here with all of you.

Daniel Mehaffey

Daniel is a Business Architect within Microsoft Digital Innovation. Daniel’s focus within the team is on accelerating Digital Transformation with customers, whilst enabling them and the wider Microsoft network to apply innovative strategies to solve hard problems. Daniel previously worked in an Innovation team at a Big Four consultancy, indexing on Artificial Intelligence and its potential to transform industries. His team identified disruptive startups working with emerging technologies (AI, blockchain, VR, AR) and created commercial propositions for clients to take out costs, generate revenue or transform the way they work. Dan is passionate about tech for good. He started his career as a High School English teacher in a deprived area in London. His mission remains to solve complex social problems using technology and believes that this change can be accelerated through the ethical application of transformative tech. Away from work, Dan plays and listens to a wide range of music, reads literature and tends to avoid social media as the world is stressful enough without it.



The First XI Innovation Challenge: Using the Indian Cricket team to solve a UX problem with HSBC

6 hrs Workshop | Categeory: UX | Target Audience: There are no pre-requirements to attend this session. We recommend that those who are customer facing, or solve clients problems day to day would benefit most. Additionally, those that run teams and want to enable their teams to be more innovative should also attend.

Imagine you had three hours to solve a complex UX challenge using India’s greatest cricket players from any era, historic or present. Would you settle into the fight with Rahul Dravid and risk running out of time? Or blast your way to success with Virat Kohli and risk running out of lives! In this three hour immersive workshop you will be competing against other teams to solve a complex UX challenge for HSBC. You will be playing for a real reward and the chance to show off your skills to a Bank which has 54 million customers worldwide. The catch is you can only solve the problem based on the skills that your cricket team has. The best solutions wil be presented back to the HSBC in video form. We ask that you leave your pre-conceptions of what a workshop is like at the door, as you will be challenged, tested and have a whole lot of fun!
